Clickbait Headlines not accepted in Google Ads Anymore

“From the month of July 2020, Google Ads would be going strict on advertisers using clickbait headlines” source Google

Google announced a new clickbait ad policy under the Google Ads Misrepresentation policy. “As Google said this policy covers advertisement which uses sensationalist or clickbait text or images which intent to drive traffic to the Ad through pressurizing the viewer to take immediate action in order to understand the full context of the Ad.”


Classification of clickbait like ad headlines:

Some ads that use negative life events like accidents, deaths, arrests, illness, or bankruptcy, and other emotions to pressure the viewer to take immediate action.

Some ads that pressure user to buy, subscribe to or stop consuming a product or service in order to avoid harm, ads which use depictions of severe distress pain, fear or shock to promote a product or service.

Ads which use clickbait messaging like “Click here to find out”, “You won’t believe what happened” or other phrases to encourage the user to click on the Ad in order to understand the full context of the Ad, or ads which use “before or after” images to promote significantly alternations to the human body.

So, you won't be allowed to use ads with titles that have clickbait like headlines.
